Surgical Technician At Work
Learning about what kind of person you are and what you like and dislike is essential to choosing a career that is suited to your personality. When I first started working I was in a position that I absolutely dreaded. I couldn’t stand the people I worked with and the job itself was monotonous and soul draining. It reached a point where my health started to decline from the mental anguish I was suffering. I decided i needed a change. I loved animals and wanted to find a job where I could work directly with them. After doing some research on The Career Trove, I found that veterinary assistants didn’t need any specialized training and get to work in animal hospitals. Though some of their job responsibilities include cleaning cages and sterilizing examination rooms, they are also required to exercise the animals staying in the facility. Also they have the duty of calming distressed animals who are undergoing treatment. I couldn’t believe it. I would actually get paid to play with animals and cheer them up. Just the thought of it uplifted my spirits. I soon found a job at a local veterinary office who had inpatient care. In the past I had trouble waking up in the morning, now I’m up before my alarm clock because I cant wait to get to work. Some days I actually stay later, keeping the patients company. A vet assistants salary is also more then I was making at my other job. Overall, this was a great career move.
I always knew I wanted to work in health care but having a background in make-up application and cosmetics I never gave it much thought. One day I read an article about medical esthetician salary ranges and suddenly realized that my skills could be put to use in a medical setting and I could receive great compensation for my services. I began looking more into this field and realized that my life’s dream could be achieved. I started a program so that I could become certified as a medical esthetician. There were many benefits to this path besides the great salary I would be receiving. There are numerous jobs available in this field all over the country and a shortage of qualified individuals to fill them. This gave me confidence that I would not have a problem finding a job when the time came. This other benefit is I would be able to help sick people in their time of need. This last point is most important to me and is what motivate me to make up every morning.
